What the AI Dungeon Master does
A Dungeon Master does a lot of jobs at once. These are the ones the AI takes on in every MacerAI adventure.
Narrates every scene
It describes where you are, what you see and how the world reacts to what you just did. You write your action in plain words; it answers with the next part of the story.
Plays every NPC
Innkeepers, villains, suspicious strangers: the AI DM gives each of them a voice and keeps them in character.
Calls for checks
When an action is risky, it asks for the right check, such as Perception or Stealth. You roll in the game and the story follows the result.
Keeps the game state
HP, XP, inventory and spells update on your character sheet as the story happens, so nobody has to do the bookkeeping.
Remembers the story
Lore, memories and the consequences of your choices are tracked, so each scene builds on what already happened.
Sets the mood
Background music changes with the scene, from taverns to battles to mysteries, and the Scene Visualizer can draw a character, place or moment from your story.

Solo or with your group
Play solo
No group to gather and no session to schedule. The AI DM runs the adventure just for you, at your pace. Stop whenever you like and continue later.
Play with friends
Send your friends an invite link and they join your adventure for free. Everyone posts an action and marks ready, then the host tells the AI DM to continue. The host's credits pay for the party's story turns, so friends don't need a paid plan.
Rules you may already know
The AI DM plays by D&D 5e-compatible rules, based on the System Reference Document 5.1. If you know 5e, the checks, ability scores and character sheet will feel familiar.
If you don't, you don't need to learn them first. Describe what your character does; the AI DM decides when a roll is needed and applies the result. A free rule checker answers rules questions while you play.

You play by writing
Adventures are played as a story you write into, with dice rolls, a character sheet, images and music around it.
The AI can get things wrong
It may miss a detail or make a call you disagree with. When that happens, say so in your next action, as you would at a table.
Credits pay for the AI
Each AI DM story turn uses credits; images and voice narration use more. The free plan includes 30 credits every month, and credit packs never expire.
No explicit content
Horror, danger and combat are part of the adventures. Sexually explicit content is not allowed.

What is an AI Dungeon Master?
An AI Dungeon Master is an AI that does the job of the person running a tabletop RPG. It describes scenes, plays the NPCs, asks for dice rolls and decides what happens next based on your choices. In MacerAI it also keeps your character sheet up to date.
Can an AI Dungeon Master run D&D?
MacerAI's AI DM uses D&D 5e-compatible rules from the System Reference Document 5.1, so checks, ability scores and character sheets work the way 5e players expect. It runs MacerAI's own adventures and is not an official D&D product.
Is the AI Dungeon Master free?
Yes. You can play on the free Adventurer plan, which gives you 30 credits every month. Each AI story turn uses credits. Paid plans add more monthly credits and stronger AI models.
Can I play alone?
Yes. Every AI DM adventure can be played solo, at your own pace. Your progress is saved, so you can continue later from any device.
Can my friends join, and do they have to pay?
